Sharing the Love

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with a wee sneaky peak from a gorgeous sibling shoot at the weekend! Photographing siblings together - especially in those early moments - is one of my favourite things to do.  It reminds me of when my own children were meeting each other for the very first time.  The pride that the older sibling feels and the love and bond that grows between them - it is just beautiful.

Look Who Came Back!

The last time I saw little Theo he was just a tiny newborn! Here he is at the fun age of eight months! Full of cheeky smiles and laughter! It was so nice to catch up with him again! The next time I see him, he will be approaching his first birthday!

Professor Ian Wilmut and Lady Sara Tie the Knot!

Congratulations to a wonderful couple, who shared their special day with me earlier this month.  Their wedding was beautiful.  Held at Eddleston Church with celebrations continuing at Barony Castle.  They looked so happy together as they posed for a few quick photos on the steps of the church - it's easy to see why I was witness to a few happy tears being shed as they exchanged their vows!

Thank you so much for asking me to cover your special day.  It was truly an honour and a priviledge!

The Peeblesshire wrote a lovely piece - which you can read here.

Hanging about on a Sunday afternoon....

Well, I am back to work after the festive period - how long ago does that seem?!  I thought a good way to get back into the swing of things would be to photograph one of my favourite hobbies! I LOVE pole dancing - for the last 18 months I have been going to the Watermelon Studio in Edinburgh.  I have met some amazing people, made some great friends AND got myself fit and achieved something in the process!

I have wanted to photograph some of our beautiful poses for a while.  Perfecting these poses takes strength and commitment.  Two of my friends show them off perfectly! So, on Sunday afternoon we got to it.  We transformed my tiny bedroom into a makeshift studio.  Space was at a premium, so we were a little restricted with lighting and poses.  A black background worked perfectly, along with reflectors and flashguns.  I think we have pulled of some great shots!

I will certainly photograph more pole again in the near future...I can see an outdoor shoot in the making! But maybe we'll leave that one til spring!!

Massive thanks so my pole pals and to everyone at Watermelon for teaching us such a beautiful sport.

Double Trouble!

This was the funniest photoshoot! It started off all very calm and rapidly decended into cake-smash chaos (of the best kind!). Particularly when big sister came to help polish off the cake.

There wasn't much cake left by the end of the session, but we got some great shots along the way!

Mini Sessions are Go!

I can't quite believe how quickly this year's sessions have come around! The Mini Sessions are now in their fourth year - and each year they get bigger and more popular! Once again, they were hosted at Rosetta Nursery to raise money for their funds.  It was fantastic to see so many clients back year on year - and also to welcome quite a few new faces!! Together we raised £340! A job well done!  Thanks to everyone who took part - here are a few of my favourites! x

Worried that you have missed out? Don't be! Why not come along to my Open Studio Day on 3rd December? Just drop me an email for details!

Smile and the World Will Smile With You.....

Some shoots just make me smile...not just as I am shooting, but right the way through the edit, too.  This was one of those shoots - each picture struck a cord with me not just as a photographer but as a parent also.  Two absolutely adorable children, with a great connection between them.  Their bond was so plain to see and it was a priviledge for me to capture.  I had a brilliant time photographing this adorably funny little brother and his cheeky and attentive big sister - and at such an important time of year too as each sibling was born during the autumn.

Row, Row, Row Your Boat.....

This was a terrific Autumn photoshoot with two lively little boys, who definitely kept me on my toes!! An energetic shoot was finished with a brilliant rendition of Row, Row, Row Your Boat in front a a beautiful sunlit tree in Haylodge Park. What fun!

Steven and Danni Tie the Knot!

What an amazing wedding! Congratulations again to Steven and Danni! Their day was perfect - gorgeous blue skies, glorious sunshine and a relaxed setting on the beautiful island of Malta.

Steven looked very smart in his summery blue suit and Danni was stunning in a show-stopping, elegent dress.

There were smiles all round and I had a wonderful time capturing their special day for them!

Thanks again, Danni and Steven, for asking me along to photograph your day! X

Colours of the Sun...

Loved, loved, LOVED this shoot!! Such happy little ladies and a wonderful family to photograph - every photographers' dream.  Plus, not only did we have perfect weather, but everyone came dressed in sunny, bright colours that made for such a fun shoot!

Dan and Laura Tie the Knot!

Congratulations to Dan and Laura - a wonderful couple who tied the knot at the gorgeous Curradine Barns, Shrawley.

Their wedding was truly beautiful, with bright flowers and colourful touches - and not to mention, fast cars! Laura looked absolutely stunning in her Lusan Mandongus dress and Dan certainly made a perfect match, looking very dapper in his smart blue Ted Baker suit.

It was such a happy and chilled out occasion for all parties involved - and the sun even shined as we made our way outside for the photos.

Dan and Laura, I wish you every happiness in marriage! Congratulations, once again and thank you so much for asking me to be your wedding photographer! X

Rain Dance

I met a very interesting lady on Sunday for a commercial shoot.  Not only does Catherine work as an Interfaith Minister, who trained with One Spirit Interfaith Foundation, but she also teaches dance, using the elements as her inspiration.  The weather wasn't at it's best for us on Sunday - at least the sun didn't shine and the rain came down.  However, it didn't phase Catherine at all and we had a great time bouncing ideas around to get some fun, fresh shots for her new website.  Check out more of what Catherine does - and look out for her updated website coming soon! http://catherinewright.co.uk/
