School Photography, in the Scottish Borders, The Lothians and Edinburgh
As I sit and write this, I can’t quite believe a year has passed since I last updated my school photography portfolio. What a year it has been. New schools on the books as well as my regular schools - it has been a blast! I am so grateful to all of the teachers, parents and pupils for giving me the opportunity to come to their schools and photograph their children.
To me, it is such an important milestone to capture. I see the difference in children year on year, as they grow - and as their families expand. I feel very humbled that I am asked to provide natural and relaxed portraits, that will hang on walls, be offered to loved ones, carried in wallets…and provide that much needed snapshot of their kid’s school life.
Once again, this is just a short blog - to look ahead for the next year and contemplate on the year just gone. I pride myself on being an outdoors photographer - why? Well, because I think it is where children thrive. To be outdoors, free and in nature. This shines through in the images I take - we can get creative with colours and backgrounds and most importantly, we can connect.
My philosophy is simple: engage with each and every child, treating them fairly and with respect. Help them to feel comfortable and at ease in relaxed surroundings, so that their personalities can shine through in every image. All parent’s deserve the very best photos of their child - and I strive to do this always.
If you are reading this and you would like to upgrade your school’s photography sessions to something less staged and more enjoyable, why not drop me a line? All of my information on Policies, Privacy and Data can be found here.
I look forward to welcoming more schools this year and to spend time with my regular schools <3
